ABOUT 1990:

This collection of songs was carefully selected from over 100 recordings I did in 1990. Everything about it is terrible. Notable moments: The profoundly disturbing original material (including a murder fantasy about Kenny G) and an acoustic version of Highway to Hell that I somehow talked my mom into singing with me.

ABOUT THIS SERIES

Before Sparky the Dog, there was Gregory the Lonely Farmboy.

From the moment in 1987 when I first picked up a guitar (inspired by my big brother, who'd learned a few songs at CU Boulder, and enabled by my big sister, who had talked our rotten school music teacher into loaning her a guitar), I was compelled to record every freaking note I played. The studio was a dual deck low-end home stereo system that could be jiggered into a two-track recorder. I didn't have a microphone, so I used Walkman headphones.
