about

Matt Shupe (aka Eiffel Tower Man, aka Mr. Raincoat) is a brilliant, under appreciated songwriter, musician, and vocalist. Plaintive, gutsy, honest, organic, and funny as hell.

In 2005, shortly after helping to create Six Months to Live, Matt relocated from Denver to attend college in Sarasota, Florida, where he continued to write songs. On two occasions, Matt came home to Denver and recorded demos of new songs at Sparky the Dog studios. Six Months to Live, who had continued, with Chris Brumbaugh taking Matt's place on vocals and guitar, eventually played and recorded many of these songs.

But these tracks, which were recorded over three very productive days, are really damned good. Never intended as anything but demos, they retain a spontaneity that I've been chasing ever since.

Eleven songs in 24 minutes. Thrilling stuff and a worthy addition to the Matt Shupe oeuvre.

I've remixed 'em, now you need to listen to 'em. RIGHT NOW.
